Terms & Conditions

The simple rules for booking and travelling with Lynx Travel.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

The short version

  • You get a clear price before you travel, and booking is confirmed once Keith replies.
  • Free cancellation with enough notice. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged.
  • Everyone wears a seat belt, no smoking or vaping, and assistance dogs always travel free.
  • Your safety comes first, and these terms never affect your legal rights.

1. About these terms

These terms and conditions apply to every journey you book with Lynx Travel, the trading name of [Keith’s full legal name], a licensed taxi driver based in Boston, Lincolnshire. When you book a journey by phone, text, email or through our website, you agree to these terms.

Keith has been a licensed driver with Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire County Council for 25 years and holds an Enhanced DBS certificate. Licence number: [licence number, or delete].

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

2. Booking a journey

You can book by phone or text on 07940 079524, by email at keith@lynxtaxisboston.co.uk, or using the booking request form on our Contact page.

  • A booking is only confirmed once Keith has replied to confirm the date, time, pick-up and drop-off, and the price.
  • Please give accurate details, including full addresses, the number of passengers and any luggage. If these change, tell us as soon as possible so we can make sure the vehicle is suitable.
  • For airport, station and early-morning journeys, please book in advance. Include your flight or train details so we can plan around them.
  • We cannot guarantee availability for last-minute bookings, but we will always do our best to help.
  • We work closely with other licensed local operators. If we cannot take your booking, or you need more than one vehicle, we may arrange another licensed operator with your agreement, and we will tell you who is collecting you.

3. Prices and quotes

We will give you a clear price before you travel. Unless something changes, the quoted price is the price you pay. Our set fares for airports, seaports and out of town journeys are agreed in advance in the same way.

The price may change if you ask us to add stops, change the route or destination, or if we are delayed by something you cause. We will tell you before the journey continues, so there are no surprises. The following may be added to the quoted price if they apply, and we will always let you know first:

  • waiting time (see section 6);
  • airport drop-off, pick-up or parking charges, tolls and similar fees charged to us for your journey;
  • [late-night or bank holiday supplement, e.g. Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, or delete];
  • a cleaning charge if the vehicle is soiled or damaged (see section 7).

Where a journey is charged by meter, the fare follows the tariff approved by the licensing authority. [Edit or delete this paragraph to match how Keith charges]

4. Payment

Payment is due at the end of the journey, unless we have agreed otherwise in advance. We accept both cash and card. A receipt is available on request.

If you are unable to pay for a journey, we may recover the fare and any reasonable costs, and, where appropriate, report the matter to the police.

5. Cancellations, changes and no-shows

We reserve the vehicle and our time for you, so we ask for notice if your plans change. Because journeys are booked for a specific date and time, the 14-day cancellation period for distance contracts does not normally apply. Instead, our cancellation policy is:

When you cancel What you pay
More than [2 hours] before pick-up Nothing
Less than [2 hours] before pick-up [e.g. 50% of the quoted fare, or a set charge]
Airport and long-distance journeys: less than [24 hours] before pick-up [e.g. 50% of the quoted fare]
No-show: you are not at the pick-up point after [15 minutes] [e.g. the full quoted fare]

If we have to cancel, for example because of illness or a vehicle fault, we will tell you as early as we can and, where possible, help you find an alternative so you are not left stranded. You will not be charged.

6. Pick-up, waiting time and delays

We aim to arrive at your pick-up point on time. Please be ready at the agreed time and tell us if the pick-up point is hard to find.

  • Waiting time: the first [10 minutes] are free. After that, waiting is charged at [£X per 10 minutes].
  • Airports: we monitor flight times where we have been given the flight number, and the first [45 minutes] after landing are included in the price.
  • Traffic and weather: journey times are estimates. Fenland roads, roadworks, accidents and weather can cause delays. We will keep you informed.
  • Connections: please allow plenty of extra time for flights, trains and appointments. We cannot be responsible for a missed flight, train or appointment caused by traffic or other events outside our control.

7. Your responsibilities as a passenger

To keep everyone safe and comfortable:

  • You must wear a seat belt where one is fitted, and you must make sure children travelling with you are secured correctly.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the vehicle.
  • Please do not eat or drink in the vehicle without asking first.
  • Please treat the vehicle and the driver with respect. We may refuse or end a journey, and ask you to leave the vehicle, if a passenger is abusive, threatening, behaving in a way that risks safety, or is too intoxicated to travel safely. You will still be responsible for the fare up to that point.
  • You are responsible for any damage or soiling you cause. A cleaning or repair charge of up to [£X] may apply.
  • For safety and legal reasons, we cannot carry more passengers or luggage than the vehicle is licensed and suitable for. Please tell us numbers when you book.

8. Children, pets and assistance dogs

Children: please tell us when you book if children are travelling so we can discuss suitable child seats and restraints. [State whether Keith provides child seats or whether customers must bring their own]

Assistance dogs: assistance dogs are always welcome and are carried at no extra charge, as the Equality Act 2010 requires.

Pets: other pets can travel by prior agreement and must be kept under control, in a carrier where appropriate. We may charge a cleaning fee if the vehicle needs extra cleaning.

9. Accessibility

If you have mobility or access needs, or need help getting in or out of the vehicle, please tell us when you book. We are happy to help and will do our best to make your journey comfortable. [Confirm whether the vehicle can carry a wheelchair, or that a folding wheelchair can be stored in the boot, or delete]

10. Luggage and lost property

Please check the vehicle before you leave to make sure you have everything. If you leave something behind, contact us on 07940 079524 as soon as possible. We will keep any items we find for [28 days] and arrange to return them. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle or lost during the journey.

11. Our responsibilities and liability

We will carry out your journey with reasonable care and skill, in a licensed and insured vehicle, driven by a licensed driver.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

Otherwise, we are only responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or being negligent. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (see section 12).

12. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for failing to carry out, or for delays in carrying out, a journey because of something outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, flooding, road closures, accidents, serious traffic disruption, vehicle breakdown or sudden illness. If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we can and, where possible, help you arrange another way to travel. You will not pay for a journey we cannot carry out.

13. Feedback and complaints

We want every journey to go well. If something wasn’t right, please tell us by email at keith@lynxtaxisboston.co.uk or phone 07940 079524 so we can put it right. We will reply within [7 days].

As a licensed driver, you may also raise a concern with our licensing authority, Boston Borough Council.

14. Your personal information

We only use your personal information to take and carry out your booking and as set out in our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your journey are those on this page on the day you make your booking. The latest version is always on this page, with the “last updated” date at the top.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
